~ Hello!, ~ My, what a week I've had. - My kittens have all been possessed by some sort of readical energy beings, judging by their behavior. - Jumping, grabbing onto, and swinging from curtains, taking running leaps at my legs and grabbing hold, as if I were a tree! (Aah! That's painful!) - The mostly-white girl jumps into walls, in an attempt to catch flys. (Who needs a fly swatter? ha ha) - They give their grandfather his exercise. At thirteen, he can still run pretty quickly, if he feels the need.
~ In other news, I experienced a sort of 'forced sabbatical' from the internet, when I found one afternoon that I could not go online. (Poo!) - My less-than-great antivirus told me that my computer had over 1600 viruses, but that it couldn't 'clean' them. (Never trust free-with-your-computer-purchase antiviruses!) I worked on the problem for days. I ended up having to run the only program that I had which was capable of helping, 'system recovery'. It send my poor computer back to factory condition. It didn't even remember me at first. ( So sad. I thought about wrapping it in a blanket and making it some soup. ha ha) - Now I have a new antivirus. Hopefully the problem won't repeat itself.
~ It is looking a bit lonely around here, isn't it? - Not to worry, I haven't left.
~ My very sincere congratulations on your poetry publication! That is fabulous, Autumn! - And possibly a new house soon, too? - Very good indeed. - Are you going to have more room for your garden? I can easily picture you surrounded by tall flowering bushes and garden plants. (My detura gets fairly tall, and it flowers, but I liken the scent to that of boiling cabbage..Blech. - ha ha)
~ It won't be very long now before I put my first art prints up for sale online. - I don't have great expectations, I'd just like to sell something. (After all, Amy Brown has been around for many years, and only recently became popular.- So you never know.)

~ Very Brightest Blessings,~ Cobweb

Greetings, It's a sad moment but the season has ended for the blackberries. We got two galloon freezer bags filled this year and I've trimmed the bush down to size again, it keeps it from spreading and gives the berries a much fuller growth keeping it trimmed. We had a few surprising sizes of 50 cent pieces this year. But alas the season is coming to an end and it will be time to warm the roots for winter in the months to come.

I'm afraid I haven't had much luck growing pumpkin this year with the season so dry. I tried keeping it watered down but it just isn't enough with the weather in the 90's these past months. Time to start trimming everything back with the beginning of August and getting ready for fall to set in.

I honestly don't think I could ever pick a season they I could love most for I love all the season with all there special ways and look forward to each as they come. Spring for it's new birth, new beginnings, summer for it's growth of all things, fall for it's beauty and settling in and winter for it's slumber. I'm like a bear in winter I love staying wrapped in warmth and sleeping snug in bed for I'm a cold person all the time.

~ Hello!,~ Ah, yes, the endless cycle of the year.- I used to think that Winter was my favorite, because I really enjoy being able to wear long-sleeves. - Now I'm perhaps a little better 'balanced' than I was many years ago, and I can't honestly decide anymore. Each season is lovely and I dare say even blessed, in it's own way. - I can honestly relate to the 'being cold all of the time'. I'm a 95-pound vegetarian with low iron.(*laugh at myself*)
~ I'm sorry about your pumpkin plants. If it's any consolation, I've tried several times to grow pumpkins, and never succeeded. I always save the seeds from my Samhain jack-o-lantern, but I just don't have a "green thumb". - I never give up, though. I keep trying, every year.-Sooner or later, I'm bound to learn to grow something besides silly old detura. - It will be tall and stinky until the first frost. (Truth be told, it's probably tough to get RID of detura..) ~ Very Brightest Blessings,~ Cobweb

Greetings, We've got rain! I can't believe it! The tadpole are so happy. The pumpkin plants are happy. The watermelon plants are happy and if you couldn't tell, I'm happy

It has been so hot, to hot to go outside, to hot to have windows open at night. Hot sticky stuff.Boy my lawn needed to be mowed before now it will really need it.

And the fish, don't forget them both tanks could use come rain water. My daughter got some buddy's for Little Moby now he won't be all alone any more. I had to catch a darn frog the other day half way threw the yard. Stay in you habitat.....I need to mow.

So, how about you are you getting rain?

~ No rain here yet.~ ..Lots of fog in the morning, though, and extremely high humidity. The river isn't more than half a mile from our house, and I think that the proximity to the water makes the humidity worse. (*blech*)
~ I am so happy for you, your plants and your animal friends. I'd seldom thought about it, but I guess fish get lonely too.
~ As creepy as it sounds, I think we've officially arrived in 'spider season' here. Late every summer, the insect population really shows itself. Of course the bullfrogs are calling at night, and I'm sure they're doing their best to take some of the edge off of the creepy-crawly situation. ~ Which reminds me, the year before last, when I went out onto the porch one morning, I found this humongous bullfrog sitting on the step. - I'd never seen one before, only heard them. I thought he was just gorgeous, so I turned an old twenty gallon aquarium into a terrarium and bought him crickets from the local bait shop. - I think he stayed indoors like that all of about one week. I never intended to just keep him anyway, but I had to set him free sooner than I'd thought I would because of that tell-tale voice.

Greetings, As you can see I've been kept quite busy this month and we haven't even finished the second week of August yet. I've added alot of things and I'm in the process of joining the Diaocht site with this one. I'm still adding avatars which I will probablly being doing that alot. I've taken the girls skating, mowed the lawn in tie before the rain, finished up the cherry tomatoe plants harvest and the blackberries. Yes,alas there are just a few still trying to get picked. I've been school shopping with the girls, updated add sites and I have to set up the next meeting at the local WIC clinic to talk to new Nursing Mommies.

I'm excited about Fall coming with cooler nights and a bloom of beautiful colors which our trees are starting to turn being it's been so dry out. I love decorating for fall with hay, corn stalks, mums, and lets not forget pumpkins. I don't think I'll hve my own grown though so I'll have to get some. My Morning glories are in full bloom and they'll go right up until the end of Nov. This years Morning Glories are Purple and Blue so if you'd like some of my hand picked very own I'll be happy to mail you the seeds just p.m. me an address. I have a ton of them being I collect the seeds each year which means I'll even have more coming this year I'm thinking of saling them at the local Market.

I put my indoor plant outside for some rain I like to give them a good fresh rain fall soaking before the heat gets turned on in the late fall. It helps keep them healthy during the winter months.

I'd love to hear how you decorate around your homes for the fall season.Oh boy, Madison will be turn 1 year old in Oct.

Greetings everyone, We finally got a cool down it was 63 last night and only suppose to be 70 today. I hope they're right! I do know this every August around 15th and on we get cooler nights. Why this is scientificaly I'd like to know. A climate change, new season coming. I'm sure someone hear could explain it to me. But with out fail in changes about the same time every year that's how I can tell the fall season is approaching us. The crickets get louder at night and the temp. get cooler.

Not to say that summer is gone no we have had quite a change for our days these past four years we have ended up with warm day up until early Nov. It the 80's sometimes. They call it our Indian Summer. Does anyone no where that phase actual came from. Indian Summer?

We have some new comers to the forum, as always I'd love to hear about your gardens. I have a few fall flowers I'm waiting on to bloom now, however to have more colour in my home I decided to plant sunflowers last week and they've already popped up out of the soil. I planted ten. I'm keeping them in the house until they get big enough to put out for Halloween time and waiting til the last minute because our squirrel love to eat my sunflowers. I hope buying cornstalks will be a good distraction.

~ Autumn,~ As always, you leave me envious of your botanical talents. - I can't even get my peach pits to sprout. (ha ha)
~ I think that the cooler nights are because of the seasonal shift. - The Summer Equinox has just passed, around July 21st. - Each day after that, the days get shorter and shorter until the Winter Equinox. -
~ I just love crickets. We have cicadas here, too, and they make the most fascinating sort of high-pitched whine. - Some people say that they're nerve-wracking, but I've just adored them since I was a kid. - I can remember finding the ocassional dicarded "shell" clinging to a tree, or a piece of lawn furniture. I always felt extrordinarily lucky. I'd carry it around all day, which of course thoroughly "grossed out" my poor mother.
~ You have to buy corn stalks where you live? - Jeepers, Autumn, you can hardly escape them here! (I really don't enjoy living in 'corn country') - Every year, at least one local farmer cuts a 'maze' out of his corn field, and charges a couple dollars for visitors to walk it. It's fun.
~ I could tell you about the albino squirrels not far from here, but I'd better save something for next time.
~ Very Brightest Blessings,~ Cobweb

P.S.~ I liked your picture. I assume that's you, in your garden? - Of course I had to try to find something that I thought might resemble me...(ha ha) - Honestly, if I could have this for an avatar, I would.

Greetings, It's an early rise here this morning. If you'd like I'll try to put the image in for you? Mine is a somewhat like me image Alburn hair, brown eyes, and I'm letting it grow long again. My hairs at the shoulder blades right now but mine is wavie.
I love the garden so much that I like to sit outside read, write, hear all the animals.

My sunflowers are up already about 5 inches in their pot. Alas I'm in town if could I'd grow my own corn stalks too. I'm one of a few country houses in town, we grow lots of flowers a few veggies and decorate for nature.I'm not a town person at all. I grew up in the countryside with farms and lots of pets.

~ Oh, I love Nature! I grew up on a farm. We didn't move to town until I was 16. ~ If it's not a hassle, by all means, try to upload the picture. - It's already my avatar somewhere else, so the size is probably alright.
~ My looks? I have to laugh at myself, but it's true.: Imagine Morticia Addams, and you're almost there. I very seldom wear anything that isn't black, and my hair,(dyed black for over ten years now), is just reaching my knees. - Brown eyes, 95 pounds. (When people that I meet comment, I tell them that I'm "post-goth".)
~ The corn stalks reminded me of an April Fool's day many years back. - My parents always planted a little backyard garden, mostly tomatos, and every morning they'd look out the window to see if anything might have grown during the night.- In my never-ending pursuit of wholesome fun, I drove out to a corn field and dug up a few stalks. I transplanted them behind the tomatos in the wee hours of the morning.Needless to say, they were surprised.

Greetings everyone, the month of August is almost over yet we still have some warm days ahead of us. The nights are usually cooler by now but we are finding here in PA. we are still holding on to nights in the high 60's.We've had some rain the past two days but it doesn't seem to cool us down any in fact we seem to get more muggy with it.

Kids are starting back to school and everyone is looking forward to fall this year. Waiting impatiently for the cool down. I have been getting ready for the changing seasons and holidays. With plans on putting up my christmas lights the first full week of school for the kids.

I have been quite busy these past few weeks, my neighbor has moved with her son and we've been exchanging numbers and addresses and making plans for play dates with the children. Madi is now 10 months old and her little boy is 11 months. Of course we'll have birthday parties to give out invites to however mine will be a bit different.

Madi will be having a Halloween birthday party. So I will have my hands full. School in, birthday party coming, running forums. Plus it will be quite different for Madi in the house with the girls going to school she'll need me to show her how to play alone and to spend more time with her during this transition.

Greetings everyone! The month of Sept. is here and with it cooler nights. Trees are starting to turn for the fall season and I've started decorating.

I like to start by cleaning up the yard of old branches that have fallen down, pulling weeds and mulching. I've cut my long grass half length and I use the tops for fall decoration around the front porch.
Next I'll buy some mums of all colors, corn stalks this way the squirrels around my home have some nice corn for a treat and then I'll look for fall leaves and pumpkins to come in. With the leafs already starting to turn I'm wondering if we're even going to get a winter.

I'd love to hear about your fall decorations as the season sets in.

Greetings Everyone. We decided to go with a Cat Cemetery themes for our front yard. I started hanging out the purple lights on the front porch and cobwebs. The girls got two fake snakes to put on the front porch and we got a coffin door bell ringer. We picked up small tombstones and we're going to place them throughout the front yard with cat names on them. It will look nice once the leafs start to fall in the yard so we can pile graves for the cats.

I figured I'd do a little bit at a time I can't make it to scarey. Madi is only turn 1 year old. But, I want it all done for her Halloween birthday party.

I have been encourage the real spiders around here to make lots of webs for I won't be cleaning them up for a while now. It's a great Halloween addition when spiders help.

Hello everyone, It's that time of year again when the full moon shines bright into our windows, a chill in the air at night and you really don't know what to wear. In the morning it's cooler but by noon time your toast.

I've had my first cold, sore throat itching, fever watering eyes and all stuffed up. Thank goodness it's starting to clear,I think a lot of it had to do with fall allergies taking hold.

I love to decorate for fall so you can believe my surprise when I found a gumball size watermelon now starting to grow by my front walk way. Two infact. The girls want to keep them watered to see how big they'll get. What luck I'm having..........

Here I was starting to decorate for Halloween getting ready for pumpkins, candles and mums. How are your decorating ideas coming?

Greetings everyone, I've been a bit sick this past week so forgive me for not checking in as much.

Can you believe those darn pumpkins are still trying to grow. We had a bit of rain fall in the past day or two and they actually grew more. Now they are the size of a very big gumball!
